2 LS 430s
Well, I liked my recently purchased 2002 so much that I got another LS 430. This one is an 04. I will post some pictures side by side, soon for the comparison. I am sure that you all know the 01 - 03 were sifferent than the 04-06. There are many small details that are different, and these make most of the body panels different as well. I am pleased that the price for these older ones has allowed me to be able to afford these cars. The original price was close to 60K and now at around 10 years old you can expect to pay around 1/4 of that or less for a decent one. I have yet to drive the 04 more than about 35 miles, since I just picked it up yesterday. I think 90 K miles is not even a concern, and probably a good idea to be past 90K for the timing belt service to have been paid for by the previous owner. That's what was the case for both of mine. It seems like these cars fare better than less expensive cars when it comes to the care they recieved from their previous owners, especially when they are ripe for my budget. I will be posting more soon. I will be reading the owners manual starting tonight.

good luck with new car - it would be interesting to hear your assessment of differences in the cars after you have had the 04 for a while.

After purchasing an 04 LS430 and experiencing the great ride, I also thought about getting another (to replace the other family car).
I didn't end up getting another one but was very tempted.

I agree... best value for the money and think the 430's are very solid.
I too have an 01,02 and an 04 between me and my parents... but have not had much time to spend with the 04. but it's not the base model... it's the ML model and has more features than either of the other two.

Hi. Welcome to the 2 LS 430 family. I too bought a 2nd LS because I loved my 2001 so much. My wife's 1999 Cadillac bit the dust and I lucked into a 2004 for under $20K and yes, 27,000 miles!! Had it a year now and it even still smells like new. The only problem is that the neighbors and family think that I'm filthy rich.
Enjoy them both. I sure do.

Turncoat?
I used to be a GM guy. It was Cadillacs, Buicks and Chev trucks. Now I have 2 Lexus LS 430s and a Toyota Tundra sitting in my driveway. The Tundra is a standard cab, short bed 07 with the 5.7 engine. It has sparkling performance. I have a "toy" preformance car. It is a Buick Turbo Regal Limited, read (luxury Grand National). The GNs were slower than the Tundra, when new. Now I tow my "toy" on a trailer, with my other "toy" and can't help but feel like it doesn't look right. I can say, "it feels right!" The towing power is just what the doctor ordered. The only problem I have had since I bought it new is the radio, but I have only put a bit over 20K on it so far. It sure would be cool to see that 5.7 motor in a car! I think I would buy one, if I could afford it.
