Default Emerging Park Assist Issues

I am beginning to notice some peculiar behavior from my park assist system. I have a '02 UL with 94k. The park assist seems to go off for no reason when I stop at a light. Most times the picture of the car comes up with no colored lights indicating the potential obstruction. When the colored display lights do come on, they are generally in the center of the front bumper.

So far, no check sensor screen or sensor errors have showed up. Does a sensor need replacement? Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Is there a paint chip or any bug remains on either of the middle sensors? I have a couple of rock chips on one of mine and it sometimes gets a mind of its own and gives me a false indication.

Best you can do is clean the sensors and turn the system off and back on again and then see if it works properly.

When you have chips or paint peeling on the sensors they will start to go off, until finally you'll have 'malfunction' on the screen.
The fix is to maintain proper paint layer on each. Too thin - it'll go off. Too thick - as well.
I usually carefully sand down the remaining paint by hand and some fine sandpaper, then i apply some paint, wait, add some, check, wait, add some more, check.
It worked 3 times out of 5. But i had to replace 2 sensors already at this point.

Yup, same issue here with an 04 UL. It reads paint as an obstruction. Idiot body shop decided to paint over them. They're replacing them this week after they tried cleaning them off.
