Great post. I too hope it stays. Thanks for taking the time to share. It looks like a really good deal for a cut shell and new battery. It's great that they can work from a picture.

Is it my viewer or is the name of the shop that provided the cut key shells not showing up in the 1st post by the OP? I definitely would like to place an order if I could find the name/website of the shop. Local dealer wants $120, and CL price from Sewell is $74.....so this sounds like a pretty damn good deal.
Thanks,
Randy G.

Thx for the info Groomerz and Dave.
Groomerz: Does the key function as normal when using in the ignition start switch? and how does the quality of the key appear to be....specifically, the black plastic part?
I am about to place an order.....just wanted to make sure it was worthwhile. As of right now, I have one key that is perfect, 1 key that is half broken (the part where the plastic and the metal key come together), and 1 key that is completely broken (at same plastic part).
Thanks,
Randy G.

I purchased 2 keys and a new Maxell battery for $37 shipped from this guy (1010keys) and wanted to let everyone know that the keys work perfectly. I didn't have my key code so I sent him 4 photos of my key, and he was able to derive my key code and cut the keys accordingly......both keys I received work like a charm. The only difference I can tell from my OEM key vs the 1010keys key is that the shaft of the key (the metal part) is about 1/4" longer on the 1010key key.....this difference does not effect its usability, but there is this difference that I wanted to mention.
Also, I was a little hesitant to order these keys because (as superficial as it is) I didn't want to have key shells that did not have the Lexus logo on the back.......however, the keys I received DO have the Lexus logo on them (they look exactly like the photos in the OP).
Let me know if you have any particular Qs and I will do my best to answer. Someone asked about the switch blade key, and I considered this style of key but ultimately went with the OEM style key as the switch blade key appeared to be rather bulky.
I ordered the keys on Sunday night and recieved the key in Atlanta (from San Francisco) on Wednesday. Sewell has the key shells for ~$74 each + shipping (after CL discount).....I received 2 cut keys and a new battery for $37 shipped. That is one heck of a deal if you ask me.

Randy G.

The receipt they provided has a 12-digit value typed on it (in the description part of the receipt). Is that the code you're talking about? If so, they provided it to me as well. I'm not aware how many digits should be in the key code, but 12 digits seems like an awful lot for them to decipher just by using a pic of the key.
If that's not the key code, no biggie.....I can just send them another photo of my existing key and have them cut me up another set!
Thx for the info on this establishment Groomerz.....great deal.

i bought the switchblade type, but i should have just went with the original style. with the key in the ignition, it just feels awkward because its so long. it was also pretty tricky trying to swap the module over because once you crack open the case on the switchblade key, the spring mechanism wants to jump out.
