cell phone pairing
I used to have my iPhone paired with my bluetooth. I went into the phone settings on the Navigation and made it discoverable for the phone to pick up. From there you go into the iPhone settings and the car should show up under bluetooth devices.
I forgot to mention that to put contacts into the car's phone book you either need to do it manually or use an older flip phone to transfer the numbers.
My iPhone is the original running iOS 3.0 though. I transferred a few contacts using my Motorolla KRZR.

Thanks for your reply. When I first got this car the iPhone 5 paired up without my doing anything and it worked perfectly. All of a sudden it stopped working, after a visit to the dealer, and I can't get it back working. I've tried to pair it up but it won't work. It is registered as the phone I have in the settings. Any suggestions would help. Thanks, Retperio
You're welcome!
That's weird. I'm not too sure what could have caused it to stop working. You could try un-pairing the iPhone from the car through the Nav screen and then try reconnecting it. Or if you reset the Nav back to factory settings that may help.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did go back and clicked on Forget This Device in Settings>Bluetooth>Forget This Device and then it seemed to go ahead and reconnect but I don't know if it will connect the next time I get into the car. I hope so. When I first got the car it hooked up and I didn't do anything but get into the car with the phone turned on. I'm not ready to deal with transferring the contacts into the car until I get this working. Thanks, Retperio

I just picked up an 04 430 with nav today and paired my iPhone to it. I was surprised at how many phones were already paired by the former owner(s). FWIW, my older/newer IS250C (older car that I no longer have, but newer model) would every now and then my iPhone and ISC would just mysteriously disconnect and deleting the device and repairing is the only thing that would work
I don't know the answer to your question. It may be in the hidden screen I see other members talking about. Personally I like to see if my phone paired successfully because there's no other way to know unless you don't receive any calls thru' the car's speakers. I recently had it say the connection was unsuccessful. So I had to figure that out and that was difficult but I got it to working again by clicking on Forget This Device and starting over again with pairing. Retperio

That's one of the reasons I like the bluetooth as well.
