Default No display for Clock, Temp...

The display for the time and outside temp on my 2002 LS430 has stopped working. I checked all the fuses listed in the manual that mention "clock" but they all look fine.

All the other displays/nav functions work fine. Just the clock, outside temp, and front passenger seat belt reminder display have gone dead.

Anyone have any experience with this happening? Thanks in advance.

My top clock, temp and dual temp display started coming on only sometimes when I start the car lately.

Can't find anything with good writeup on this board... anyone have any suggestions?

Since it comes on and off intermittently, I seem to think a fuse is not the issue.

thanks for any input

I agree with you that this is not a blown fuse problem. The "intermittent" behavior points to a loose connection as a likely culprit. unfortunately, all of the connectors for the multi-display unit are located in the back and are not easily accessible. Here's a link to a DIY to get to these connectors...

Very nice pictures, as I had no idea where to start when taking apart the dash electronics!

Loose connection seems unlikely since I've had this vehicle for 5yrs and no one has fiddled with it and I have high confidence in Toyota connectors.

But anything is possible and definitely not out of the question.

Seems like this must be a rare occurrence for everyone around here?
Anyone have any parts fail?

Trying to obtain as much info as possible before diving into the dash.

I have had the same issue and been hesitant to dive into the dashboard to check the connection. Strangely it has worked for an extended period the 2 times I have had to jump start the battery
