Exclamation Air Suspension in 2004 LS430

My air suspension system is totally blown out =- only 69,000 miles. My mechanic is installing
regular suspension system to the tune of $3300. If I installed new Air it would be closer to $6000.
I think Lexus should pay for this! Anyone else had this problem?

also......it does not cost nearly to the tone of $3300 to convert to a regular suspension system!

it's rare for all 4 corners to go out at once on a air suspension model. Are you are all 4 are blown??? The air is unique in that you can replace one at a time, whereas with steel you have to replace both sides in pairs.

Welcome to the club....................sorry but you got rip off big time. I just check regular shock set (F&R) around $750 on Sewell Lexus w/o CL discount. Should be around $1200-1500 total, need to check with your mechanic as not sound right.

The air suspension going out before 100K is not uncommon on the LS430, but did all four go out? That would be very strange.

As far as Lexus paying, it's 8 years old and 69K is not like 2 years old and 20K. Things happen and this is just normal wear and tear. How does Lexus know you don't raise and lower your suspension all day, or drive it one rough roads all day for those 69k. It's out of warranty, that's life.

As others have said, $3300 is a rip for conversion to regular suspension parts. If not OEM, an even worse rip.

Seems pretty expensive, but from what I hear right on track with other quotes. I'd remove my shocks/struts if you'd buy them, lol (but seriously I would)...mine are all good by the way. I also have a DataSystems 680 I'd add for the right price...

I have 86,000 miles on my 04 UL. Had one shock failure (right rear) at around 60,000 miles which was covered by extended warranty on CPO.

I have 242k kms on mine and all struts are original and working.
And you SHOULD raise and lower suspension at least once a week to keep things moving and alive.

My 04 UL w/PCS just turned 59,000 miles today, bought it July 25th this year with only 54,321 miles. I haven't experienced any issues yet, I was under the car inspecting it at the start of November. All four air shocks were clean, dry, and in good shape from what I can see. But I do have a question for the rest of the UL owners.... When you drive over bumps do you feel a "shaking" through the steering wheel? It only does it on a good bump or pot-hole. How many people agree with Lynzoid that the use of the air suspension, like adjusting the height once a week would make sense to keep it moving and operating normally?

I don't have.the.air.suspension but agree that you need to just move things and operate them every so often. Luke AC in the winter, you need to run the compressor every so often so the.seals don't dry. I would imagine those with high mileage either do the air every so often or never at all, while the early failures are from too much adjustments.
