After reading the manual, I attempted to insert a cd. The opening seems to be plugged and there is no room for a cd to be inserted.
Now it is making a sound like it is trying to play.
It does this twice and then is quiet.
When I stop and remove the key it does it twice and then stops.
The screen says CD ERROR.
Would this be something I could clear by lifting battery lead?

Mine did the same thing. Problem was a C.D. that wouldn't eject. With the help of a pocket knife, I was able to get it out. Runied the C.D. but the player is fine.

 

I'll try and see if something is stuck in there. I was afraid I might break it.
Come to think of it, it is already broken so I might as well give it a try.
