Default Wheel fitment guide for LS?

I just found a great (old) post about wheel fitment for 2GS/IS-01-05/SC430 but is there guide for LS430? I couldn't find any.

I also like to know how to measure this myself. What is the best way to do this?

Sorry, not go-to guide for the LS430 due to problems getting wheels to fit the big brakes. Searches will yield a large number of past discussions on various wheels and a few attempts to put together a list. The best way is to work with a reliable wheel / tire store to find wheels that fit well and that, in your opinion, look good.

Here is a thread in the LS400 section of the forum: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ls400-faq.html

The 95-00 LS400 has the same size front "big brakes" as the the 01-06 LS430.

Hmmm so it's still a bit of a gamble since I want to import some wheels from Japan.

I did find some "conversative" setups though. They are around +40 offset. But there is no info about the brake pads.

There's so many variables to play with, that it'll be easier if you state what your goals are. Conservative or flush wheel fitment, stock height, mild drop or slammed.

Everything from ride height, spring rate, rim width and offset, tire size and brand, to fender work all play a role.

For instance, I'm running flush fitment, stretched tires, low stance with 14k/12k spring rates, shaved and rolled fenders etc.. And just recently changed tire brands(both known to run wide) while keeping the same sizes and I have to play with my fenders again to stop the rubbing under compression.

Clearing the front calipers is easy if you're buying multi-piece forged wheels, just use high disk faces for the fronts.

I'm looking for a similar fitment like your car. What kind of coilovers are you running and what are your wheel specs?

I was looking at getting some custom wheels with sizes like these: 20x9 +25 and 20x10.5 +25. I was hoping that would be flush and not rub too much on a mild drop.

As far as I know there isn't a thread for us LS430 guys yet. It'd be great if we can get one started.

If you order a set of wheels to your specifications, you just have to ensure you get "high disk" wheels.

Here's an example with work wheels. Big Brake (R-Disk)

http://www.workwheelsusa.com/media/w...2_SPEC10A1.pdf

If you're ordering an "off the shelf" set of wheels, then brake clearance may be an issue. If anything you will have to run spacers to clear the brakes off lower end/cast wheels.

I'm running custom BC coilovers, 14kg/mm front and 12kg/mm rear spring rates, with 20mm shorter dampers.

My rims are 20x9 +22mm and 20x10 +23mm, with Achilles ATR sport 225/35's and the new Nitto Motivo's in 245/35. Rear fenders are shaved to where there's about 6mm of lip left and the fronts are gently rolled until I can figure out my ride height. I plan to go lower than I am now, but won't sacrifice the ability to turn the wheel full lock. I'm still playing with it.

Those rim sizes you mentioned will work, but I'd bring the front 9's to like a +18mm or so in order to match the rear fitment better.

Yes, I am aware of the many many variables. My goals are mainly to flush the wheels and keep maximum 1 finger gap between tire and fender. I am going to stretch the tires for sure, since I don't like the balloon or straight wall look anyway.

Shaving or rolling the fender is not mijn favorite but I think it's necessary to get that flush look.

I do want to keep the stock air suspension and I will control the height with an ASC height controller, eventually...

I saw some Bazreia's with very conversative setup: Front: 8.5Jx20 +44 Rear: 9.5Jx20 +38

Not a typically setup to brag about I guess :P

It's also very hard to find a face AND setup you want.

So even the stock brakes need high dish wheels??

Oh my, according to the Weds' website the front setup is a LOW disk!! And the rear is MID.

That's kind of stupid. How can you run LOW disk in front anyway. Let's say I will need 10mm spacers to clear the front brakes.

I did some calculations:

++++++++
FRONT:

8.5J * 25.4 = 215.9 mm

center of rim = 107.95 mm

+44 = 151.95 mm

with 10mm spacers = 141.95mm

from mount to outside = 73.95mm

REAR:

9.5 * 25.4 = 241.3 mm

center of rim = 120.65 mm

+38 = 158.65 mm

from mount to outside = 82.65mm
++++++++

So the front and rear are not sticking out equally, anyway. Would this setup look weird? Or is this stupid calculation from me haha

It doesnt matter if they dont stock out the same, as long as they clear and u can drive /turn without any problems.

Thanks for the answer. How do the BC coilovers ride with those spring rates? I was looking at the Megan EZ, BC, and Tein CS coilovers, but I'm not sure which to go with.

I'll probably go down to +18 in the front then. As long as I can completely turn the wheel and not worry about rubbing or scraping it's fine.
