131 mph
I have read on this forum that the LS430 is limited to a top speed of 131 mph.
Since I haven't personally verified this on the road...yet, I was wondering if it is governed by ignition or fuel shutoff or both.
What happens at 131, does the engine stumble like a GM truck, or does it just stop pulling?

My throttle always just sort of cut off abrutly when trying to get it over 131,sort of like a high revving bike when u let off the throttle, but not quite as harsh. Even when trying to do it going downhill it would try and thottle down, i wonder if this s hat fuel cut off felt like. It didnt feel very healthy to me so after three or so times i stopped doing it.

In my LS I don't feel anything, needle just stops at 131. When I had a 1998 Buick Park Ave Ultra top speed was governed at 108, now there was an abrupt moment, I was actually thrown forward a little as it reached 108. It would go down to 105 with my food all the way down and then kick down to 108 again

A little off topic but if you run the new Shelby Mustang GT 500 (660HP) wide open you will drain the tank dry in 16 minutes. Another interesting fact for you folks...an ES330 is governed to 143. see link and box on right side

I did. Just shows how quiet the car is even at top (governed) speed.
Mine is pretty quiet and not drafty up to 120. Then on windy days, bad idea anyway, she gets a lil draft/noisey above 120 on the drivers door. I drive pretty hard every week to the toon of some rattle noise at start up on above 85 degree days.
Wonder if its the t belt tensioners/idlers or such I did not change during the t belt job, a little dryness on the top end at start up or what some play in the crank? Its gotten a little worse every summer for 2 in a row and goes away come fall thru winter and starts again when it hits 85 degrees and above 90 for sure.

130+ mph speeding ticket always means a reckless driving charge in addition to a speeding ticket. Going to court is mandatory and usually produces suspension of license from 30 days to up to a year in egregious cases and depending on the state along with a stiff fine ($1000+). The courts have zero sense of humor about anyone going that fast out on the road.
You can rent out the Talladega course for $1500 for an entire day believe it or not and split it with 10 friends - so there are way cheaper and safer legal ways to go fast in your cars.
