Default A/C not blowing cold. Trouble code 28

My a/c was working, sometimes it would intermittently blow some warm air a few minutes. I added some freon on Saturday and it was blowing cold. This morning my compressor will not kick in and the air is not getting cold. I did a diagnostic check on my 04 LS430 and I get the blinking code 00 28 00 28. I have tried to locate the dtc code 28 and I can't seem to locate it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in the community.

Dirty system, wrong amount of refrigerant, wrong pressure, near-death compressor. Any of these.
Code 28 just means one of the solar sensors is indicating 'dark' (rear one).

The freon level its not in the danger zone. What should I check next? Dirty system, is that the cabin filter?

No, dirty system. As in dirty condenser, dirty expansion orifice etc.
What's 'danger zone'? Didi you charge by weight? Or by pressure in high-side? Or just 'by ear'?
System have failsafes, it won't engage if pressure is too low and if it's too high.

I checked by weight. The compressor is engaging and I am cold. I checked the codes again, now the 21, 24 and 28 codes pop up. Are the condenser or expansion DIY jobs? I see that 21 and 24 are related to a solar sensor circuit. I have to do some research on that one.

Duh, I guess, taking the vehicle out of the garage would help the sensor sense the sun. I guess I just have to find a way to clean the system.

There's kits on ebay, that contain bag and filter for your a/c condenser. Well, it's rather diy if you can take condener out of the car yourself (to replace the bag+filter you need to get to it from bottom of condenser).
As to cleaning the system i think you need good reputable a/c shop with proper equipment.
I went thru all this myself. Only good a/c service man solved my problems.

After 2 years of trying to diagnose my intermittent non-cooling AC problem it was finally diagnosed correctly as a compressor that was locking up. Got a new Denso compressor on eBay for $325 and had it replaced along with the accumulator, been working perfectly since.
