Extra arm on wiper??
Does anyone have an idea what the extra arm is for thats attached to the drivers side wiper arm? Its a very thin arm that sits just below the primary one. If i had to guess i would say its either for extra stability or maybe a position sensor rod. Anyone?
If you notice on the LS the driver's side wiper has an unusual arc, and when it comes to the end of its travel up by the A pillar its actually sliding more or less sideways. The only other wiper I've ever seen that operates that way is on a bus.
Anyways, thats why that second arm is there, the pivoting between the two arms is what makes the wiper go from a movement around the mount to a sideways push. I've always liked the wipers on the LS.
