Default Power Steering Pump/Fluid

Hey guys,

So I just recently had both my lexus's at the dealership to have various things worked on. I had my power steering fluid changed literally 2 months ago. They called and said my power steering pump was leaking and it needs to be replaced. So I told to them to go ahead and have it done. Before my car went in, the PS fluid was clean, literally light red. So i check it when it comes back, now all of a sudden, once they put the new pump in, the fluid was DARK! How does this happen? When they replace the pump, does it require new fluid to be put back in? I can't figure out how clean fluid turns dark in a matter of days.

If they installed a new pump they should have flushed the lines and entire system as a part of the job. The fluid in your reservoir should be red and clear. If it isn't then they just replaced pump but left old fluid in the steering box and lines - make them do it right and flush the entire system giving it back to you with clear bright red fluid.
