To my fellow ls owners I need your input. Long story short my neighbor rear ended my 05 ls430 blk on blk 44k on her. AAA paid for fix with one of there prefered shops. They did a great job repainting bumpers minor scrapes. I picked car up fri 30 min before closing parked her in garage it rained all day sat. Washed her Sunday morning went fishing in my honda came home went to grocery store went to put goodies in trunk button not working under trunk lid. Now how sould I go about getting this fixed (ps body shop closed on weekends\very reputable shop with a 3 generation 30 year history) all input welcome thanks for your time.
Yes, go visit the shop and ask them to address it. This type of undiscovered damage happens all the time. They may have to get an additional authorization from AAA if it takes more than re-plugging a connection.
Could they have accidentally locked it from inside using the little valet key slot on the lower part of the dashboard? Took me ages to work out what that thing was for until i realised it prevented the boot from being opened.
thanks for the help all the shop said it was unrelated. but told me they would order a new switch and install it for me for free just to have a satisfied customer. I couldnt believe it

I can. I am glad they are taking care of it. Due to the circumstances, and "coincidence", I'm sure they don't want you to even THINK it was them. It's a lot easier to get a new switch and install it than to have an unhappy customer, which can become a hassle on so many levels. Sounds like the shop has proper customer service.
