Default Hearing a Weird Noise

For a couple of thousand miles now, I've been noticing that my dad's LS430 makes a loudish creaking noise under braking and tight cornering. The noise seems to come from the front of the car, near the wheels. I think it could be the shocks. The car has 65,000 miles on it.
What do you guys think?

A rough guess for creaking during braking and turning/cornering is possibly ball joints (I had a Mark VIII that had exactly this symptom).

Could be something like problem with caliper/rotor, ball joints, or shocks, or shot mount loose or broken, or motor or transmission mount problem.

Rocking them up and down? That's an interesting test. I''ll tell my dad about that one.

Upper and/or Lower Control Arms? - their bushings can be worn with age

Thanks for all your help. We think it's an issue with the motor mounts.

That's odd. I'll be curious to know more about how this develops...

Good luck. My dad's pretty lazy about getting stuff like that fixed.
