Default LS430 storage compartment

I have been looking for a LS430 storage compartment and was wondering if anyone has one in there LS? Is this a factory option or is it something you can only buy as an aftermarket piece? For clarity, it is the velvet lined compartment that takes place of the cigarette lighter/ ashtray. thanks

Get one from Sewell. I want one too, but can think of other more cost effective things to buy for my car. A little expensive for what it is, but sewell is probably the best place. I don't think aftermarket would be available, or advisable.

I upgraded to the storage box and for $200+, I thought it was worth it. I don't smoke, so having that smoke box and little cigarette plug was totally useless to me. I rather pay little more for something functional, than have something sitting there doing nothing. Also, the compartment comes with a 12V plug, so you don't lose any functionality.

Sewill is way to go and that's where I got mine.

I got mine from Rakuten in Japan, AU70 + postage. I think the total was just on or over AU100

+1 on that. In car ashtray is bogus. I'd pay the 200 just to be rid of the ashtray - the nice cubby and 12v power point with hinged lid is gravy. An easy relatively inexpensive mod that permanently improves the car.

It is a pretty pricey piece... I wonder if I can find one from someone who would trade one for my ashtray, lol. Yea right! A piece like that is probably worth $75 realistically, but $200 is a bit steep for something that stays closed a lot. It is a nice velvet box though! Hey one of you smokers trade me! Do you think it is worth $200?

A bit pricey yes , but spring for it!! its worth it. Hell you bought a $55k+ car , $200 more dollars won't kill you....

it is a $55-70k car that costs $70 to fill with gas. $200 is a relatively small investment compared to the general costs in buying and driving an LS430.

Having said that, $200 isn't a trivial sum and it can be tough to budget on an unnecessary item these days - times are tough..no doubt about it. I'd have to check Sewell pricing but I have read they can be had as low as $140 or so with club discount - price seems to vary. I think I paid about $175 about 18 months ago.

Also be aware that at some time in not to distant future they will become unavailable. Small optional parts like this are usually first to be deleted and not restocked by dealer as the car model gets older.

I still have the stock ashtray unit - never smoked in, mint condition, sitting in closet likely forever.

The benefits and convenience is worth the 2 bills. My Zune and Android has a nice new home with room to spare.

I agree with this as well. Having said that, I just purchased one from Sewell and couldn't be any happier with the purchase. iPhone fits when closed. Worth the money.

And that 255 bucks is the same price for Club Lexus Members as well! I want one, but it's just not justifiable for that price.

Yeah I wouldn't pay that for one either. I guess I got the last one at the discounted price two weeks ago when I ordered one. I paid 118 shipped after using the BARON code. It dropped the price from 188 to 118.
