Such a warm welcome, thank you all....

I'm starting to suspect that my air suspension may need some TLC... And my concern about tires and comfort may actually be due to something with the air suspension being not being tuned correctly.....

6. The High Low Switch may not be working..... Does the setting only effect the ride? Or does the car actually raise and lower in height? Because mine doesn't seem to do much of anything..... I tried setting the switch to both positions while looking at the car from outside... And saw no change in height... And while driving, I didn't notice any big change in the feel.....

While in high, it really does lift the car up I would say 3in+. You should be able to see a large gap in the wheel well. Maybe your height sensor has gone out. Not sure when you really use the HI, maybe in the snow. Not really used for carrying a large load in the car as its auto leveling so when set at "Normal" it would compensate any sag.

Sport mode suppose to stiffen the ride a bit, not sure if you have that in the 03 (I have an 04).

Side note: Do you hear the compress go on in the front of the car when you set it in high with the engine running (note, you have to have the engine running so it jacks the car up)

Default Good job!

Congrats I purchased my 04 LS 430 in June of 2008 with 99k I currently have 160k and the car is still just as strong as it was when i first bought it. Only maintenance I have done i s change spark plugs (tough), oil, and brakes. No warranty use it towards mods!

Just returned from Keyes Lexus, Van Nuy's.... Great guy's, 1st class service.

They stated that this model, 2003 430 UL, the height of the car doesn't change with the HIGH / NORMAL switch while parked. They evaluated the air suspension for me, and said it is working properly. Checked the tire pressure, and age of the tires, decreased the psi from 38 to 34, and even though the tires have lots of wear left, agreed a new softer set would achieve a little nicer ride.

They also suggested I could replace the out of date on star module with a simple sunglass holder, to get rid of the audio log on reminder....

7. Is there a way to disable that audio connect reminder, and keep the very cool voice recorder?

Thanks...

Don't know about the 03 UL, but my 04 UL will change height while parked with the engine running. It's fairly slow, but with the door open and the left foot on the ground you definitely can feel and see the change in height.

Interesting...

Well as I said, I have everything to learn about these great cars.....

If anybody feels they made a mistake and my 03 should change height while at a stand still, please chime in...

I bought a 2006 UL with 14K and purchased the extended warranty. Keep in mind that you buy the warranty you will need to maintain it by the lexus maintenance schedule, which includes a time requirement. You should get the dealer to tell you if doing the maintenance by the mileage schedule and not the time schedule will satisfy the conditions of the warranty. My timing belt needs to be replaced at the 9 year or 90,000 mile point. I'm going to change it a 9 years (probably about 50,000 miles) just to be safe. I would get all of this in writing from the dealer before buying the warranty. You don't want to find out after you drop a $10,000 engine on the street because your timing belt broke in the tenth year with 75,000 miles on it. I have Primacy 17's. The original owner had factory 18's and replaced them!
