Default Wheels???

Ok so a newbie to this forum. My question is what wheel will work on my car? The reason I ask is my wife hit something in the road a while back and put a quarter size hole through the back of the wheel and I am haveing a hard time finding a nice wheel to replace the one with hole. But to throw a curve ball in the car has had a set of 2006 6 spoke wheels on it from dealer that we bought it from. I bought a set of 17x7 48 mm offset PIAA wheels this week and they rub front calipures. So what do I need to do??? I have a new set of 225-55-17s on it so don't want to change. Thanks to all for responses in advance!!!

You can always buy just 1 OEM wheel (a few hundred bucks) that's guaranteed to fit/have good quality. Go to Sewell Lexus for pricing (many other good sites for OEM stuff as well, do a search).

You could try some spacers so your wheels will clear the calipers

Welcome to CL.

Since you have the PIAA's, spacers or 15mm+ adapters depending how sunk the wheels may be. The cost of spacers/adpaters at all four corners, it might have been a wash buying one single OEM wheel. I suspect the tire was toasted as well so it would be an additional replacement cost.

Post up a pic of the PIAA's once you get them on.

I do have full size spare on it now but it is the original 2003 7 spoke with out the scalped center cap or else I would just leave that on for good. The tire was trashed but I have road hazard warranty on them so that is no problem. I really don't want to spacers and don't want factory because if another one has problems then I am out another $350 for recondition one. Thanks for replys. What offset do I need to get so they will work??

If you aren't for the spacers/adapters, make sure when you go wheel shopping it has Big Brake Kit/BBK clearance. Mid to High disk is another term for wheels that will have caliper clearance. If the wheel spec from the manufacturer does not state it will fit the LS430, these generic fitments usually don't clear the calipers.

Many find out the hard way they need 10-15mm spacers up front. Then the rear fitment is weak so to balance it, you'll wind up putting spacers/adapter on the back. The wheel offset if too aggressive or wide, you have fender rubbing issues. If not lowered, this is less a concern.

Having gone through a similar problem of not clearing the front calipers on a set of 18"s, I can tell you that it is a surprisingly NOT simple endeavor to find wheels that fit the LS. The wheels were advertised as a fit for the LS. But like many sellers they were only going off bolt circle and offset. Read through some of the fitment threads here and even reputable online sellers like The Tire Rack and Discount Tires Direct have made this error. One should test fit wheels before mounting tires so you can return them if they don't clear. I didn't.

I can understand not wanting to use spacers and you will want to do your own research on this for your comfort level, but I do run 15mm spacers on the front to clear these wheels and 15mm spacers on the rear to match the track/look. I used these:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=230512359197 They are hubcentric and have no vibration or other driveability problems and as they are bolt on they are easy to install/uninstall. Retorquing after about 50miles w/ blue locktite lets me drive w/ confidence. I have used similar spacers on the back of the RX330 for about 40k miles w/o any problems.
I have seen several of the PIAA model line in person and they are nice quality. At the PIAA's 48offset - 15mm= 33mm you will not have any rubbing.

Alternatively, if you want guaranteed fit and lower cost of future replacement maybe check these out: http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels-fo...53347-3-1.html
