Finally installed the Kenwood KVT516 in my LS430....

 

Nice and clean install! Any new features that come with the 2nd screen?

 

It's sweet. How did you incorporate it into your existing system? Anything I need to know before I rip mine out and do the same? Lol.

 

so the second screen gives me

- complete control of Ipod
- dvd playback
- Bluetooth with AD2P so I can stream live radio from my iPhone 4
- XM Radio (optional)
- I can alway buy the Garmin navigation option

I had originally purchased the Viastech SLI but I can only control playlists with that....so I connected this DVD player into the AUX IN of the SLI...You can buy the kit from Beat Sonic (just the adaptor) which is a bit cheaper than the SLI

 

Is it overriding the existing unit or working with it? I guess I'm debating on whether or not to gut the existing system or try to make it work.

wish the wood trim is back at the original spot but i see the installer did the best they could.

 

it works with the existing system. In case I ever want to sell the car....The SLI simulates with the MD Changer so it things its playing a CD

I know I wish it was flush..its killing me. I am taking back the car on Friday to see what they can do...what he proposed was to trim down the ***** so they recess back....He would then move the DVD player back into the dash so the trim can be flush.

They did trim down the opening....a standard DIN is 2 x 7...also beware of the depth...Kenwood is around 6 inch while the rest out there are more than 7..which gives you limited space

 

im interested i n doing this also but i also saw someone playing dvds on the thier main screen also, is this possible with your setup
