Recently my car had started making a noise and vibration from the front passenger wheel. I replaced the pads and rotors because I was told the rotor was warped beyond the point where I could turn it but that didn't fix the problem. Only thing I can think now is that its a wheel bearing and one of my instructors at my school (I go to a school for classic automotive restoration) said it was classic wheel bearing failure and that it was probably caused by the warped rotor vibrating it. My question is whether or not you can replace the wheel bearing without doing the whole hub. I searched and couldn't find anything definitive about whether or not the whole thing needed to be replaced.
Hello Russia! How did you find the wheel bearing for 120US$ OEM? I need one too. I am located in Stuttgart.
Today my Lexus dealer quoted me 430 Euro for the bearing only, which is 600 US$ for the material alone. Can you still find a good source? Thanks in advance, George

They're $357 now I see, I was quoted like $550 at Lexus. Same issue passenger side. I'm not using it now due to a trip to Afghanistan and have yet to see any problem prior but after deployment I'll fix it. If you can do it yourself you'll definitely save on labor...

You see? US$ 550 is about what they charge us in Europe as well. My passenger front bearing is making noise as well. Its like a wobbling noise starting at about 80mp/h and above. annoying. I had the wheels aligned shortly to exclude this fault. so it MUST be the bearing that creates that deep singing noise. i think its just starting to fail.
if these bearings fail permanently, so why not go for the cheapest on the market?
