driver side HID light issue.. any advice???
Hi members, about 4-5 months ago one of my factory bulbs went completely out, so i replaced both with the d2R cool blue replacement bulbs. I leave them on during daily driving just because i like the look, but now my driver side light started to go out. If I turn them completly off and back right on it will come on for a min or so but then go back out.
If it is the bulb, wouldn't it go completly out, meaning it would not illuminate again after i flip on and off the switch..? Or could it be worse like the ballast...? I still have the oem white bulb i was going to reinstall to see if it would stay on, but I wanted to check with you guys first..
I just shelled out for a brand new radiator, and brakes and rotors a week ago, and now this had to happen... Oh well.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Who makes those D2R cool blue replacement bulbs? If they are aftermarket bulbs then i'm 99% sure its the bulb. Aftermarket bulbs dont last very long. I had the same problem with my pass side bulb but it had around 50k miles on it so it was no surprise it would go out and when i would turn my headlights off and turn them back on that bulb would light up again.
Also, I know that if you touch the bulbs with your bare hands you shorten their life so make sure you're wearing some latex gloves while changing your bulbs. You can even wipe them off with some alcohol swabs before you install them. You never know how they were handled before you got them.

update:
So i put my old oem white bulb in and it stays on... I guess that is good news considering the price of a ballast... I got them at a tuning spot here in san antonio for 60 bucks.. But im about to order some new ones on HIDoutlet.net...
I really like the way the cool blue looked vs my stock whites, but i think im going to change it up again to the 10000k deep blue instead of the 8000k cool blue just to see the difference. There only 28 bucks for the pair and 5 bucks shipping, so i guess its better than the 60 i paid retail... thanks alot for te feedback maybe this thread will help someone else experiencing the same issue... thx club
