HID Headlights.
So i recently bought some d4s bulbs for my OEM HIDs and installed them myself, but when the car comes on it takes the driver side's light longer to reach its normal color (bulbs look blue when first turned on then go white) also about after 3min the driver side goes out. i searched around and could not find any answers so any guidance would be appreciated
aftermarket bulbs takes more energy and time. The going out part after 3mins, try switching the bulbs from driver side to the other side. that will tell you if the bulb is bad or the ballast it bad.
ok, i dont think it is a bulb thing because i have seen many other members here using the same bulb. nor the ballast because, well it is the Lexus OEM ballast. ill try switching the bulbs tonight.
one thing i forgot to mention is once i notice the light going out i just turn the lights on/off again and it will work for another 3min, so even if it is a bulb thing how come it will keep igniting?
i had my lexus ballast go out when i changed my stock hid bulbs to DDM tuning bulbs. they replace the whole housing for me. It can be the bulb because the when you turn it off the gas cools down and than re-ignite. I had a friend that had a similar problem like yours.

i have xenon depots Extreme d4s 6k bulbs, i just drove around for a while, they went out twice in the beginning but then worked for 30+ min straight... weird. maybe they are fixed?
how can that be explained? the only thing i can think of is maybe my battery was running low because i had my car (fully on) just sitting in my driveway, thus charging the battery for a while, then they worked.
