Default Japanese prayers

On this forum we all praise the Japanese engineering that has gone into and produced such fine, safe cars for us to make our lives more enjoyable and comfortable. Lets all pray their marvelous ingenuity can again shine through in their time of need now and provide needed miracles for their countrymen.

Having been to Japan and seeing the earthquake precautions they take, it seems that the current horror could have been much, much worse. Our friends were vacationing in the mountains when it happened-Thank God.
Our family's prayers go out to all those affected by these horrendous events.

I read a short article at lunch today marveling at how there was no looting going on in Japan.

Having worked for a major Japanese firm before retiring and on occasion traveling to Japan, the lack of looting is no surprise. It's simply not in their culture. Btw, never once did I see a homeless person or even graffiti.

I'll never forget my first business trip over there, I found myself lost in the subway station. A Japanese business man saw my confusion and physically got on a train w/ me (he spoke perfect English), got off with me at one of the stops and directed me to another train which got me where I was going even tho he had to backtrack to his own destination.

Seeing the horrific scenes of total carnage and loss of life has been deeply disturbing. Unfortunately, I'm afraid there's much more in the way of tragic consequences still to come. Hopefully those of us in other countries in some small way can help, even if it means a donation of some sort and skipping a couple of restaurant meals.

No looting - This speaks volumes concerning the ethics and character of the people of Japan. Give them some help if you can.
