Default Nav brain problems

I am having problems with my nav system on my 04' 430. The screen goes blank and it says it is not connected or check connection....something like that. It is affecting the radio, air conditioning, etc. I have heard of problems with it before and that it usually is the start of a complete failure. I have checked my connections and I know that is not the problem it just says that on the screen. After a while it comes back and works perfect but sometimes it just will not boot up. Is this just the start of a complete failure? I am fearing it is. Any ideas?? Thanks

What do you mean going up? Do you mean going up in flames? Speaking of disk, I was thinking of buying the new generation anyway but if the system is crashing on me then that would be a waste. For now, I will check out the disk and see but I don't know how it could be scratched since it has never come out of the box. Thanks for the reply and please clarify if you mean it is failing.

I meant your nav box in the trunk is just showing signs of dying on ya. Mines is doing the same as we speak.
