I had a slow leak from a nail 5 weeks ago and without the warning would have not been able to get to a shop and been changing the tire roadside or even damaged the tire(no fun). It is the simpler less expensive system of he 2. I was looking at german cars for a while and the battery in the other style sensors only last so many years and you are replacing them whether you use them or not.

my condolences on only being 3 feet tall, i found the switch and it's not above my knee, its a good 6-9 inches below and forward, probably the reason for the recommendations that it is under the dash, an individual of average size will never find it searching above knee level because it would actually be below that such

Mine recently triggered because the front right was at 37psi when the other 3 were at 33psi. I'd had the front right replaced due to a screw that damaged the sidewall and the tyre store for some reason put 37psi in it.
Once I got all 4 set to 33psi, I reset the TPS and since then it's been fine. Yes, it's irritating sometimes, but I'd rather be notified of the occasional "false alarm" than not be notified of a deflating tyre.
After the reset it takes ~60 miles for the system to "learn" the new settings, but if one is more than a few psi out it will trigger anyways.

The age of technology and not one picture of the location.

Picture won't help ya unless you can get your head into the drivers footwell whilst looking upwards. 😁
If you can then the button is next to the Smart Key button.

The system will only react to a gross rotational difference in one or more wheels compared to the other's values. Theoretically if a tire has a leak or puncture as it deflates its overall physical diameter gets smaller so the ABS system will detect that one tire rotates more than the other tires per a given speed as the car is in motion and flags it as a possible inflation problem.

Its important to understand that an ABS based system actually has absolutely no idea what actual the tire pressures are. It is a size based rotation sensing system so unless the car is moving there is no way the system can detect a tire deflation.
So, lemme get this straight. It is completely irrelevant whether my JDM rims are TPMS compatible because the LS430 doesn't use sensors anyway? I can really use any rim I want then?
