air filter on 2004 ls430
where is the air filter in the engine compartment,took off all the covers ,can't locate it: thanks

Right front of the engine compartment, adjacent to headlight.

here you go. take a look at the area circled. Should be about 4-6 clips holding that cover on...

Any suggestions for opening the compartment? There is a latch on the right side but having a hard time with other release mechanisms.

If I remember I took the tube off to make things easier. Loosen and pull back the accordian type plastic and lots of space.
