Can anyone explain me specifically why? Someone told me that it was because of the difference in length of the 2 rear and front suspensions,but I have researched and realized the rear were longer than the front.


If anyone knows please tell me and the correct setting of those air suspension,ground clearance in the back and front or how many mm will I have to set in the computer,...Thanks a lot,pls help me.

 

Welcome to the club and enjoy the gangsta lean. I think its just a factory defect sometimes its level but mostly it has the lean. Some people tried adjusting but it just goes back in time.

i've read your post 3x and still cannot figure out what you're asking...

Do you want to know why the LS430 appears to sit lower in the rear versus the front? If you look at pictures of NEW LS430s, they appear to have the same wheel gap in the front and the rear. Not appearing to have any disproportionate gap front to rear.

I asked for the difference in clearance,I have tried seeing the ULs on Ebay and almost all of them got the rear lower than the front. About your pic,I have no idea why it had the same ground clearance,maybe it was in High mode(the suspension button)

 

Almost every OEM Ultra I've seen has a noticably higher front than rear (including mine)

 

But what happened if I adjust the same height for both front and rear? Will they go back in time?

 

This is so funny b/c I have the same problem with mine and every time I see a LS430, I look to see if its "sagging" in the rear. When I have time I just adjust the rears but then a month later, it drops back down....

 

Now I am having another prob,I tried to find the place of the trans fluid but couldn't,can anyone picture the position for me?

 

Every car has this to a certain extent, front always appears to "look higher" because of the larger fender opening (needed to turn the wheels when the car is loaded) while the rear does not require this.

Germans usually get with this by placing a line that runs in a slight slope from front to back to eliminate to a certain extent that visual aspect. If your trying to aim for perfect tire gaps, and you successfully achieve it, the front will become lower than the back due to the reason mentioned above.

Personal observation here -
However, having said all of that, on the LS the front seems to be slightly higher when parked. Anyone ever notice this on a moving LS? I think when parked, the drives weight is loaded on the front suspension and when the driver exists the front stays in that slightly higher position.

 

My 04 UL measures the same height to the fender openings on all 4 wheels, 27 3/4 inch.

The horizontal side chrome strip is 20 1/4 inch at the front bumper and increases to 21 3/8 in front of the rear wheel cutout. This is a very gradual increase at the rear. The chrome strip at the rear of the rear wheel cutout is 22 3/8 inch and increases to 23 inch at the rear of the car. This is a more upward swoop than along the body of the car.

This results in my car being, and visually appearing to be, higher in the rear than the front.

I don't have any strut problems, as the left rear was changed a few months ago and I have 63,000 miles on the car.

Just observations and measurements from my car.

 

Was this service done at the Lexus dealer? You replaced the air strut on the LR with OEM parts? Would you mind sharing the out of pocket cost on that repair.

While my air strut is failing or failed, the car still sits level. I'll pull out a measuring tape tonite and see how close i'm too Jayclapps numbers.

 

I had no cost, as I purchased the Lexus as a CPO in 2007 and purchased the Lexus Platinum Warranty at that time (cost: $1600). My invoice showed the part was $1098 and labor was $260 for a total of $1358. The strut was found leaking fluid at 56,500 miles last December.

 

The front end on my 06 LS430UL was about .5-1.0 inches higher than the rear when I measured it. In fact when I was looking at buying a SL550 the MB Pre-owned buyers would tell me to have my air suspension checked. Never had a problem except for the difference in height between front and rear. Lexus service manager said not to worry unless I got a warning light.
