Default UL air suspension

I just bought a 2001 LS430 UL with 97000 miles. When i push the High button nothing happens except the light in the dash telling me i'm in high mode. Should I feel the car raise up if I am parked? How much should it move? Does this mean the pump is bad? The right rear seems to be an inch lower. Is this a sensor issue or a bad strut or related to the height not changing? Any instructions out there on how to adjust those sensors?

it takes awhile to go up or down. Maybe you're already at high? Like junjdm said, it could be a lot of different things. hard to just say what it is with little info.

Welcome aboard

It's noticeable if you really stare at the hood line from the inside.

It's easier if you look at it from the outside. Plus it takes longer to raise than to lower since it's pumping air than releasing air (to lower).

Default air suspension works but not level

I turned on the car, pressed the high button and watched from outside. It went up about 3/4 of an inch. I had adjusted the right rear height sensor about a 1/4 inch but it is still low on that corner. Is it a one to one ratio for that sensor so that a 1/4 inch sensor change gives a 1/4 in change in body height? It is about and inch low so i don't think there is enough adjustment left. Does that mean the strut airbag is leaking?

I'm so use to it, by just sitting in the car looking out, I can pretty much guess what setting I'm at. The hood line is noticeably different on each setting. Also, when you step out of the car, you can tell the height difference.

How do you tell if the air bag is bad or the height sensor is bad? The RH rear goes up and down but not as much as the rest of the car. Is there a way to test the sensor for resistance, etc?

------
To check air suspension, change from Normal to High and from High to Normal should take between 20 to 40 seconds and change ride height by 30 mm. Automatic Ride Height should be checked by seating 4 people (2 in front and 2 in the back) each weighing 68 Kg, with time to target height being 40 to 60 seconds. When people get out, the vehicle should achieve target height in 10 to 30 seconds.

To check a height control sensor, remove assembly and connect three 1.5 volt batteries in series with positive connection to terminal 1 and negative connection to terminal 4. Stationary sensor reading should be 2.3 volts, and change between 1 to 4 volts at either end of travel.

Front:
Ride Height 115 mm between B and A, where A is defined as ground clearance of lower suspension arm No. 1 bushing set bolt center and B is defined as ground clearance of front wheel center.
Height Control Sensor Link Reference Length: 59.3 mm (2.335 inches) from top of one adjusting nut to the end of the other adjusting nut (i.e distance between the adjusting nuts plus their thicknesses at both ends).

Turning the adjusting bolt by one revolution changes ride height by 5 mm.

Rear:
Ride Height 109 mm between D and C, where C is defined as ground clearance of lower suspension arm No. 2 bushing set bolt center and D is defined as ground clearance of rear wheel center.
The sensor link length is not specified, but moving the installation position on the link on the lower arm by 1 mm changes ride height by 2 mm to achieve the reference height between D and C.
