Question Front seat removal - need help

Does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to remove the front passenger seat, including the leather seat covers? For some strange reason, the sensor in the passenger seat thinks someone is sitting in the seat when vacant. This only happens when it's hot inside the car, after sitting out in the sun for a while.

I'd like to take the seat apart and see if the connection is loose to the sensor and expect i'll have to take it apart.

Any help would be appreciated!

did anything ever spill into the seat? Maybe it's sticky with something. Im sorry I dont have a write up for you. Sounds like a royal PITA. Good luck with your diagnosis.

no, nothing spilled in it on my watch... just seems to detect a passenger when the car is heated. In the morning, after being parked in my garage all night, the sensor doesn't detect the "phantom" passenger. However, after sitting in the parking lot at work, I drive home and the fasten seat belt light blinks the whole way home for the passenger seat... which is empty. WTH? I'm starting to think that the Gen2 LS430 is more prone to problems than the Gen 1.

Well, with the higher number of gadgets put into it, I would expect it. Good luck to the 3rd gen owners!

does anyone know if the airbag sensor (which needs a weight of >45 lbs to deploy) is the same sensor that detects an occupant sitting in the chair?

The position seat airbag sensor can deploy the srs system. I have a disc with some info on removing seat, when I get home I can look at it and maybe email you what I got.
