I have a few stretches in northern Wisco where I go skiing often where I can run my car 100 mph or so and the doors seem pretty airtight. When i get up to 125 or so the front driver door begins to sound very unsealed. Anyone seem to have this same problem? How do I fix it? New molding, have the door realigned? Thanks

well mine doesn't seem to do this. i sort of tested it this past weekend and didn't have that issue. i will note that it felt very smooth and felt that it could do at least 155 if not restricted to like 130 or whatever it is. mine was surprisingly quiet and felt very good handling wise. i thought the back end would feel a little light but since i ride really low now it seemed like it had some pretty good down force...

I have noticed some relatively large gaps between the trailing lower edge of both front doors on the LS 04-06. Maybe that has something to do with it. I am sure you guys know this but be sure your tires are rated for the higher speed if you are going to run at high speed particularly in the heat of the summer.

Mine is air tight at that speed, with a coefficient of drag: 0.25 (04-06) she is slicing thru the wind with ease. The car is sealed so good when I'm going down this hill near my home I or anyone in the car can feel pressure on their ears crazy.

Do you guys have the power door closures i.e. the CL or UL version or just Premium or ML?

I go to school in Kansas where there is always wind and when I go even 75 on a highway I can hear windnoise from my driverside door. I dont know if its a seal or something like you said but if its supposed to be completely quite the somethings wrong haha

I found Northern Wisconsin to be an interesting place. I remember driving through "towns" that consisted of a couple closed stores, a closed gas station, a church of unknown status, and a bar with a parking lot full with cars and/or snowmobiles.
I ski in the UP every weekend with my kid. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive and I know where most of the cops sit. Stay in a pack if you can and never be set alone not to pick up bouncing radar beams. I have a good radar detector and I have 30 mile stretches of backroads at a time. I hardly even see a car or yet a cop set up with radar. Always hawk the turnarounds, never go real fast at night and know the roads. Stress, i am in healthcare but our 150 k city is pretty easy to get around in.
I called the body shop he just said slow down.

i have the UL with door closures and air on sport mode..
long highway straightaways are good for higher speeds, and hov lanes are always a few feet separated from the rest of the lanes and when there is a solid white line this makes most people feel like they can't cross it even though its just a white line...
we have a long straight (for the most part) highway where motorcycles can be seen doing wheelies at speeds of 100+ on most afternoons - night time when the weather is nice, and they very often do speeds in excess of 150+.. often times you can see cars and such trying to play catch up, i am sometimes one of these cars.

Once you hit the outside of I-285 at the right time of night or morn, you can squeeze on the gas. The only thing in front of your car is air and opportunity! It is rare that I will go that fast and with the new Super Speeder Law that was passed here, makes one think quick about his/her lead foot. Originally Posted by GS3Tek

i got pulled over in my old gs400 going about 120 bout 2.5 years ago. when i saw the lights behind me i quickly noticed that there was a an exit so i hit the brakes as hard as i safely could and came to a stop about a 5 feet past the exit about 5 feet before the sand barriers hoping that the cop couldn't make the stop and if so i was just gonna cruise down the exit but he was barely able to make the stop and get behind me... it was actually funny watching him try not to hit me and safely stop,, his abs wasn't nearly as good and his brakes locked up and he half slid past me before getting back behind me... we both joked about it when he walked up to my window, and that was about the time the joking stopped
since then i have tried not to drive so fast, until recently i had been doing pretty good... but i am driving up to nyc tomorrow so i am sure i will have a few fast and furious moments if the setting is right, but i don't like to do this unless i am the only one in the car. no sense in putting my wife through that,, ahh who am i kidding, i'm more scared of her than the cops

I'll be driving this route (see attachment) in late July. I hear the speed limit on various stretches of the route are 85mph..which means everyone does 95mph..and that means I'll probably be doing a constant 105mph..lol.
I'll try to post updates and pictures along the way...

Going back to topic, has the car been into ANY type of accident before? Even getting rear ended can change the equation.
