Angry 03 No audio

I had a great idea to buy a crashed 2003 LS 430. It took me a year to finally get it repaired and cost me a lot because of how many times I have been ripped off. I finally have the car in my garage and while trying to figure out why the navigation system and radio will not turn on, I realized that my amp has been slolen. Does anyone know if that is why the navigation will not turn on? the screen works because I can control the A/C with it, but I can not turn on the audio system or the navigation. There is also something slowly draining the battery. Any suggestions would be great. I love this car and I want to finally drive it!!!

Joshua

I did a little more searching and found the amp. What is actually missing is the navigation player. Someone cut one of the wires that went to it and my battery keeps draining. Does this missing piece along with the cut wire have anything to do with the dead battery? I just bought the battery and had it tested and its fine. Im getting very frusterated!

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles! I am having a battery drain issue on my other car and know how frustrating it can be. No tsure about the cutting of the wring. At least this will be a life lesson for you. Cheap turns out expensive. You have a great group here. Im sure you will get it figured out. BTW, another great forum is lexusownersclub.com. They are very technical over there and may be able to help you a little better. Best of luck! Post pics when you are up and running!

The cut wires won't drain the battery. There is no load on the circuit, nothing to drain it. At worst if the power was on and the wires touched you may have blown a fuse but again, no power drain. You might have to hook up an amp meter between the negative battery cable and the negative battery post to find out how much is being drawn. More than 50 milliamps is considered high. From there you would have to start pulling fuses one at a time to find out which circuit has the high load. How long does it take to drain the battery? Does the car sit for a long time?
