Default 2005 LS 430 - Upgrade Navigation to Generation 5 possible?

Can anyone help? I have heard that using DVD then you can upgrade it. Is this true? I want to buy the SL2i-Up Ipod adapter, but I need to update the Nav to Gen 5. Any ideas?

Pretty sure you can't unless you want to spend a ton of money.

The generation 5 nav totally blows away the 4th gen nav in the 430! I would LOVE to have it! Alas, I think airtime is right. I don't think that it's a simple swap. If it were, than someone would have done it already. That new screen sure would look sexy though!

Yes it dose everytime i'm in the wife's RX350, I think about how her Gen 5 would look great in my LS. I really like the Gen 5 over the Gen 4 but that should be expected.

I really like the Remote Touch on the HSh and RX. It's a big improvement over a touch screen.

Not only is Generation 5 better in display, but provides better driving instructions. I used it on an RX Hy-bred loaner and was totally impressed with the lane changing overlay arrows. I have a $500 Garmin that that has so many bells and whistles than my factory Nav, and my wife always reminds me.

yeah, too bad with the upgrades in Navigation Disc v9.1 etc, they can't update the software a bit more, to look more like the newer Gen 5 navigation system... I understand the images might not be as clear (as Gen5 screen due to screen resolution limitations), but if they upgraded the interface, that would be cool selling/upgrading feature as well...
