Default '04 LS430 Trunk Struts

Has anyone had luck getting their trunk to open all the way by itself? I want to have my trunk open fully when I unlock it. Any suggestions?

Use the search tools to find lots of info on this topic.

In short... it doesn't work that way. Poor design, but it is what it is...

You might can find some motorized struts to replace the existing ones. You also have to do some fancy wiring that will raise the struts after and only after the initial unlatching has occurred. Good luck and let us know if you find anything.

That would be a nice feature, but think about that that strut would be some highly pressurized strut. If it's so powerful to actually raise the hood once you release the catch then you'd have a hard time closing it too.
