But the newer Lexus leather have a urenthane finish and don't allow cleaners/conditioners to penetrate into the leather. Consequently, I prefer the Lexus products as they work fine.
Best is to have the dealer do it every 6 months ($40 at my dealer). The stuff the dealer uses is not the lexus cleaner/conditioner you can buy, and it works even better than the leatherique that people rave about. $40 is pretty darn cheap for how good a job the dealer does. The lexus cleaner is good for removing dirt marks, smudges, cleaning up kids' spills.
Well when it was time to clean the seat on the lincoln that i had I'd used the Lexol cleaner. Sprayed it on the leather then used damped terry cloth and work into a lather and wiped with a clean damped terry cloth. Allowed it to dry then applied Lexol conditioner with a dry terry cloth. Always worked for me and the seats stayed in very good condition until i sold the car. In the lex, for now all i do is wipe the seats down with a damp cloth and apply Meguirs gold class conditioner because they do not get as dirty so far. When they do, i'll probably go back to my old method of cleaning. I could let the dealer do it but i'd rather do the simple stuff like that myself to my car. Don't wanna pay another man to put his hands on my lady!
