Default center dash rattle

There is an intermittent center dash rattle on my '04 LS430. Anyone else that has or had a similar problem?

Nope, but if you/someone removed any of your center console units, one of the bolts might have fallen off during installation or while driving (not tightened to spec). It is fairly easy to remove all of the center console panels and electronics. The problem shouldn't be too difficult to trace.

I have a rattle traced to somewhere in the buttons on the right side of the screen. I have taken the Nav out, taped and tightened everything in there. It stopped the rattle for a few weeks but has since come back. A very light touch between the buttons and the passenger-side temp control stops it until you take you hand away. Drives me nuts.

Similar problem on my 04LS..mine stops when I press the plastic around the right side of the nav screen. Tech at dealership said it would require removal of the center console w/no guarantee fix would last. The fit is too tight to force felt into the gap.

I found out what may be all or part of the problem. The satellite box and adapter were not secured when added under the dash/in front of the console. All is quiet now, and I hope it stays that way!
