You either have a bad ECU, battery, or a flood vehicle...

ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)

Definition: The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the fuel injection system, ignition timing, and the idle speed control system. The ECU also interrupts the operation of the air conditioning and EGR systems, and controls power to the fuel pump (through the control relay). The ECU consists of an 8-bit microprocessor, random access memory (RAM), read only memory (ROM), and an input/output interface.

Based on information from the input sensors (engine coolant temperature, barometric pressure, air flow, etc.), the ECU determines optimum settings for the output actuators (injection, idle speed, ignition timing, etc.).

Default Diagnostic charge

I took my car to Lexus service. Charged for dignostics - $230. It is second day and they still can not find the problem.

Representative told me, that if it will take more time for diagnostic, they will charge me more for diagnsotic procedures. Question - is it legal?? They charged me already. And if somebedoy cannot find problem in 2 days, should I pay, for the fact that somebody not realy qualified to do their job???

Tell me if I'm wrong.

You need to speak to the service manager tell him I already paid for the dignostics, and you will not be paying again when they have not found the issue in the first place.

All fuses are OK, I checked by myself before going to dealer. Checked one by one Smalls and biggies.

Very weird. For example, I cannot adjust mirrors, but when I'm putting on reverse, mirrors turning down, so power really going. Talking about control module, all functions described above, regulated by different modules. Is it possible, that all of them went down at the time? If yes, how it's possible? Car wasn't flooded.

We'll see what they will found. Day#3 started 3 days at dealership and no answer so far.

Highly unlikely. One commonality among the different modules is the power supply - the battery. I would definitely do some kind of a load check on the battery, not just measure the voltage but measure it under some kind of load - maybe just with the car running. The stealer should be able to do that, if they haven't already.

most likely a loose/cut circuit in the interior harness or a bad switch (somewhere).

Unless you've been the owner since day one or bought it from someone you trust, you can't possibly be sure that the car hasn't been flooded...
