you have to make sure it's closed to a certain degree. The "crack" can't be too big.

The LS is very sensitive. It will close if you barely close it with a slight "click" which I love
On my S, it's a lot more picky. It won't catch/close if you close it like the LS.
I find myself giving it an extra nudge.

The door latches and I can hear the motor trying to close the door. but it doesn't pull the door tight

My front passenger door does the same thing. All 3 others will close normally, with a slight click. The ill-behaving closer pulls the door 95% closed, then open, then 75% closed and will stop there. There is an adjustment to these, I had it done a few years back at the dealer in Texas. I'd rather figure it out myself, but cannot find a shred of info on the procedure anywhere.

Does the base model come with the door close feature?

No, the feature is only on the custom luxury and ultra luxury trim levels. However, all trim levels have the power trunk lid closer.

I recently purchased my car and it did not come with a manual. The car other than no maual is in mint condition and operates like a brand new LS430. My question is, how do I program the keyless entry feature using the touch option? I hear this feature comes with both the base and the ultra edition.

Go to the owners section of www.lexus.com (lower left corner) and register your car's VIN. You can then view the owners manual and order one to be sent to you. I programmed my SmartAccess to unlock all doors when I touch any door handle. It's a handy feature. I don't remember the programming steps, however.

BTW, welcome and be sure to post some pics of your car.
