Default Fuel Filter

I am getting ready to do some maintenance on my 06 LS430. This time I am changing the break fluid, coolant, plugs, etc. I had anticipated changing the fuel filter but when I contacted my dealership today to order the parts I was told the only fuel filter these cars have is inside the tank and is not a maintenance item. The parts fellow told me he had never heard of one being replaced in his time of working at the dealership. Is this what the rest of you have discovered? Many thanks.

True, the filter is inside the fuel tank and is not a "maintenance" or "serviceable" part, but I'm sure there is a part number to it and you could change it if you wanted to. Carson Toyota/Lexus has a part online that shows as "filter" for the fuel tank at about $31.

AlexusAnja, Thank you! Yes, they gave me the part number but since it is not a maintenance item I will leave it be. I just wanted to hear from the rest of you to confirm what I was told. Again, thank you.

Derry, I'm not answering your question from fear of being picked on I will say I change brake fluid and coolant every other year.

So four years... every two years you change those... then you must be putting about 30-40K a year... because if you're doing them at 12K/year then that's some very very fast preventive maintenance you got going...

Okay, I'm overkill on everything, but we both know brake fluid has nothing to do with mileage; that's all about time which leads to moisture being absorbed.
I knew you guys would pick on me.
