Default '05 LS for $27K

Hey guys,
Have been shopping for an LS to put under the tree and found an '05 with only 11K miles, white with tan interior, nav, mark, park, camera, etc for $26,900. The car is in So. Cal so no salt worries and I have ordered a carfax report. Supposed to be a one owner, clean and always maintained although not much to do with only 11K on the clock.
What do you guys think of the price? It's from non-lexus dealer so not certified.

It's a good price especially consider it just has 11K miles.

Smokin deal. I bought mine at the end of August with the same setup, silver w/gray, 47k miles, $27k. Perfect shape.

Price have dropped a little since I picked it up and the economy keeps on falling, but with only 11k miles on it...your getting a $55k car for next to nothing!

Warm, Thanks for the heads up. Just did a search on Auto Trader for any 460 within 100 miles of me and the lowest was 47K so that is out of my price range. I'm not a fan of the styling of the 460 either...looks too much like an ES or dolled up Camry.
I'll keep looking.

'07 LS for $27K from private seller will never hit the net for long. It's going to be a fluck deal here and there. Unless there are sellers jumping out the window because of the economy, I doubt many LS460 will run below $30K right now.

I would not limit my distance, I was willing to either have mine shipped or drive it back home. You could be missing out on a some nice deals and LS's, just my 2cents tho.

Well, I guess the deal fell thru so the dealer called and I went down and checked it out. There's always a reason why things are so cheap and this vehicle was in an accident as it turns out. Not a bad one but enough that the hood felt weak and unstable, many, many scratch marks all over, paint was a shade off etc. Car had been maintained alright and I'm sure it could have been brought back to a reasonable level but my wife wouldn't have anything to do with it after she found out it was in an accident so we passed.
Back to shopping.

There is always a catch.

The 1st sign of problem is if the car is so new and low miles, how did it end up in a used car dealer lot?

Did the owner traded that car? If so, what did he get from that used car lot? or did the car dealer got the car out of aution? Again, how did that car end up in aution?

I guess you get what you pay for. If the price is too good, it probably mean something is not right, otherwise, someone else already gotten it the 1st place.

I got lucky on an '04 with 12.5k last year this time. I paid $31k for it (remember it was a year ago), but was nervous about the miles even at a premium price. The CarFax was clean, and it turned out the car was a corporate purchase for the CEO to be driven. Apparently its sole reason for being on the road was to take Big Dog from home to work and around Boston to meetings. I'm surprised it wasn't a lease car, but it was bought and titled by the company. Needless to say it was pristine, since the driver kept it spotless for the boss. It's been a great car.
