Default Front brake wear

Hi

anyone had what they thing is premature brake pad wear on their LS430. Our LS430 2006 needs pads & rotors with less than 30,000 miles. Trying to see what is causing this wear?

Do not see much on search in forum on rapid wear. Nor on Identifix

Regards

Greg

Default Brake Pad Life

Could very well be how the car is driven. Freeway miles or around town?? I do a lot of freeway driving and have just over 30K on my present set of brakes with about 40% left on the front pads so I'm very pleased with the wear.

Agree most definitely. It's how it's driven, not just pure miles. My RX, I'm about 60 local and 40 highway, and it takes new pads about 35-40K. I have a friend who has a Highlander (basically the RX mechanically) and he does about 90 highway and 10 local, and his front pads just got replaced at 95K and honestly, they looked like they could take another 1000 miles or so.

The less you use your brakes, the longer they'll last. If you're a "two foot" driver, who rides on their brakes with the left foot, then good luck getting 20K from a pair of pads.

Just pattern, more than miles. With that said, the rotors needing to be swapped out at 30K does seem premature to me because even if pads wear out fast, the rotors should not.
