Brake pads wear out every 15K on 2002 LS430
Does anyone else have this problem. I had to replace the front and rear brake pads on my brand new 2002 ls430 after 15k miles. Now I have 35k and they need replacing again! Should I got with a harder brake pads, like EBC green stuff. Any suggestions? Also should the rotors be "turned" everytime you replace your pads, especially if you are replacing them with different ones then you had before.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It really depends on how you drive.
If you ride the brake often yes you can wear them out after 15,000miles
When I say "ride the brake" I mean keep your foot over the brake(just slightly) while driving at full speed.
You can also ask your dealership to check the calibers.....make sure there not sticking.
I assume the dealership has been changing the brakes and not using aftermarket pads.

Is there anything wrong with using EBC green stuff pads with OEM rotors. Will this cause vibration in the steering wheel? I though EBC pads might last longer.

I used to go thru pads every 9-10K on my 1999 Mercedes S320. Of course I live in the up-and-down terrain of Pittsburgh. I HOPE to get 15K out of LS430 pads!

As long as your rotors are in good shape, you should be able to use the EBCs without having the rotors resurfaced.
Good Luck.
