If it's a mercedes or bmw, I would opt for the super duper extended warranty.

I've been contemplating in getting the extended warranty ONLY because of the air suspension and maybe for the door lock actuator/navigation.
BUT, and a big BUT, these things go out close to 100k and that's when the warranty runs out

I have a couple more months to think about it-but honestly, I'm not worried about it.

If I have a modern/custom luxury, I wouldn't bother.

 

That's the key word. For the LS, what can go wrong that is catastrophic???

I can only think of the air suspension giving out rendering the car undrivable, just like the old S class with the problematic of the air suspension giving out (go to mbworld.org for info. I have one also so that's why I'm on the lookout)

 

i am about 85% sure i'm gonna pick up an 03-05 (depending on which one i choose) ul ls430 in the next 9 days, is there any historical problems with the air suspension going out on these??
