Default 2005 UL LS430 - Passenger Memory Seat?

I am new to the Lexus family, my first intro with the 2005 LS430 UL sedan. Nearly the entire car is amazing, but one thing strikes me as odd. The driver seat and rear passenger seats all have memory - but the front passenger seat does not seem to have memory. Is this true, or is it there and I just can't find it?

Likely a stupid question, but please humor me and help if you can.

Thank you!

Mac

Wow! Thank you for the info and the quick response! I was hoping maybe I missed it and it was tied in with the driver's seat memory. Such as for me driving and my wife as the passenger, wife driving and me as the passenger, etc.

Oh well, I guess that just goes to show you can't have everything... no matter how much you spend!

No problem

Whenever you're a passenger, I would opt for the back seat and take advantage of the chauffeur service of those massage seats

Funny! My wife and I talked about that too. We have a daughter who is nearly 18. We told her that for trips she will be driving and we will be enjoy the massaging seats and cold beverages! Now I just need to put in a rear entertainment system!

I saw an LS430 had the invision dvd player/monitor when I was looking for an LS. Very clean and I think the dealer had them too. It's pretty pricey at the dealer (obviously) but other audio stores should have them for a much lower price.

Pictures taken from ebay:

Now that you have designated driver, you and your wife can enjoy this:
Good thing the UL have the cooler box already

wow, I never realized even the LS460 don't have it.

Now that you pointed it out even the LS460 don't have it, I know why the LS430 don't have it. I always wonder why it doesn't have it because older/lesser model cars has it (Example: 98' GS400).

It is because the emphasis of the LSs are the right side rear passenger, it is the boss's seat, and Lexus intentionally omitted the memory function on the front passenger seat so that people can't activate the memory function and crush the boss sitting on the back seat. Now it all make sense!!

Thanks for solving one of the question I had on the car for a long time!

See my post above, I figured out that function was intentionally omitted for a reason. Not because it was left out to save cost. No feature is left out on a UL car to save cost

I do that once in a while after having dinner at a restaurant, I would sit in the back seat with my wife driving

That's what I said too if it has the rear ottoman.
If it didn't, there should be a memory seating for the front passenger then

It's a cost effective thing for lexus. Why bother making 2 different mold when you can totally delete it?

We're crashing MacLS430KS thread

I disagreed. Obviously for the 460/600, if the rear leg rest is extended, it is very important that the front seat don't move. But even without the lazy boy/ottoman, the boss is still in the back, so Lexus don't want the front seat to move back by itself.

I don't think so, he got the answer he was looking for and now we are giving him the reason why that feature is not there

I would say that it was "omitted" because the UL will either be driven by the owner, or used as a chauffeured vehicle. Therefore, the rear passengers would definitely need it, for comfort. The drivers side needs it of course, to accommodate various drivers. The front passenger then is the odd seat out, because if it's a vehicle to be driven by the owner, chances are one person will be the passenger 80 or more percentage of the time, so to have a memory button for 20 percent is not "worth it." The passenger can always adjust as needed.

Just my thoughts...
