Hi

I had a very similar problem! Recently, after flushing the transmission, changing the plugs, air filter and oil and oil filter. I don't know which caused it to happen but both the traction control warning and the "check engine" warning came on.
I turned the car on, started her up and sat with my foot on the (foot) brake for a minute or two. I turned the car off and... Hey Presto! the warnings went away never to return (as yet) The car runs so silently that last week I got out, went shopping and, when I returned 20 minutes later, I realised she was still ticking over!
