inserted wrong key experience (hint: don't do it)
Well, had a close call here. I just had my old 1994 ls400 detailed before putting it up for sale and was going out in my 'new' 2005 ls430 when I put the WRONG KEY in the ignition.........ooops.

Found I could no longer turn the key even when I inserted the correct key. I assume this is some sort of theft protection mechanism.
Called my lexus dealer near work (having the flashing AFS light fixed on monday) and they said I probably screwed up the computer or transponder communication with the key and would have to tow the car in to have them fix it. I then called my local garage who said it was not anything they (a non-dealer) could handle. Third, I called the closest lexus dealer who said they had never heard of this problem before but I should tow it in for them to look at.
At this point, I'm pretty annoyed (at myself as well) but before calling AAA for a tow, I decide to go back to the car, lock it up, wait 5 minutes then unlock and go back in, and voila, all is well..........so it looks like either the lockout due to the wrong key had timed out or I somehow reset the whole thing with the lock/unlock sequence.
Anybody know exactly what did happen to me here?
Thanks
