I just recently purchased a blk/blk 2004 ls430. I love the way the car rides and how smooth everything is. But the ride height is just so unbearable. So my next step is to lower the car. With that being said, can someone please confirm the following list for what is needed to lower the car:

1) Coilovers (Tein CS)
2) Length: 441.5 - OEM Lexus Rear Suspension Arm Assembly No.2 LH (part #48740-50020)
3) Length: 441.5 - OEM Lexus Rear Suspension Arm Assembly No.2 RH (part #48730-50050)

Is there anything else that will be required? Thanks everyone in advance.

 

When I had my GS400 with standard suspension like your LS I only needed the Tein Coilovers (Flex in my case) to lower it. Not sure why you need #2 and #3 on your list.

You cannot adjust camber on the ls430 rears. Camber adjustment only in front. Thats why I'm asking. Thanks.

I think unless you are dropping the car a whole bunch you will not need the suspension arms. A normally, up to a 2", drop which should not affect the stance too much. For a total in the fender drop, that's when the arms comes in handy.

 

Assuming I drop the car pretty low, would you consider 441.5 be the right length to correct camber?

 

So you can order different lengths of arms for the LS430?

I would suggest installing the coilovers, setting the stance with the wheel setup you are going to run and ordering the arms last depending on what you need.

 

I don't think that would be very efficient. I would not only have to take everything apart to put the arm back in, but it would be so time consuming. I am looking to get everything done at once, so then I can get an alignment go on with my business.

The difference is that turboteg and most people on car forums have a disease we are really into perfection so thats why he suggested doing it that way.

 

Everyone runs differently sized and different offset wheels,and everyone has different ideas as to what an acceptable fitment and camber setting are,so there is no 'that'll be fine for you too' suggestion for every car.
You really do have to drop it first,measure,and then either leave it as is or but the appropriate arms,fit them,re-measure and re-evaluate.

The above link might be useful. To drop the car all you need it Teins. Unless you plan un running aggressive (lower offset) wheels, I'd stay away from longger lower control links. The longger links is just to add more negative camber to fit the aggressive wheels.

The 441.5mm length you posted is the wrong part if you want more negative camber. If you want more negative camber, you'll need the longger 451.5 links (not shorter).

Also keep in mind Tein CS do not drop low. If you want a lower drop go with smething else.

*Also, PLEASE get the alignment doneas soon as you install different length arms. The toe gets thrown way out of spec.
