I have recently had to have both headlamp assemblies replaced. The repair was done, but shortly after, I noticed one headlamp did not illuminate the "exact" same color as the other. You could only really noticed it if the lights were shined againts a white wall. That being so I did not make a real stink of it. But when I noticed when the lights are against the wall, the "cut off" the some people complain about HID's was not straight across. Both of then were on a 45 degree angle. As I said, since you only seen it against a wall of some sort, it really did not matter. Now I have condensation in both lamps. Does both lights need replacing? Shop states it is a normal condition and the condensation will disolve eventually. Lexus gives a one year, unlimited mile warranty on all parts purchased. Is the shop giving me a line of #$%& and/or have anyone had condensation that disolved as time went on?
I hope this shop owner is not taking my kindness for weakness. But when I look at the front of my vehicle, the condensation is really starting to get to me...,thanks for your help/comments!!!!

This is not normal and it could take months for the condensation to burn away. After all, there is really no place for it to go. IMO, the installer should remove the headlights and dry the insides out carefully with a heat gun on a low setting until the condensation is gone.

Then, if it returns again, you will know that the headlights are defective.

throw some dessicant packets in to the housing it will dry up the moisture. and run the car with the highbeams on for a little while. that what i did for my IS' moisture problem.

 

No need to do that, thanks anyway for the advice. The shop is replacing them with new units. Thankfully the Lexus over the counter parts warranty is a good one.

 

I have a little bit of condensation in my housings. Is this a good fix for that? Is there anyway to permanently fix the issue? What is the usual source of the issue?

 

There should be no condensation in any headlights. Just means there is moisture getting in. Brought in a 2007 camry for a inspection sticker and got rejected because of the condensation at a Toyota dealer.

 

Is there a seal I can buy from Lexus? Probably old and worn (2001).

 

Go to Lexus and ask them for the parts breakdown, it should show you all the seals that are replaceable
