He said a HEAT GUN not HOT GLUE. Use the heat gun to warm up the pinstripe and it should be easier to peel off while it is warm. Don't burn the paint though!

I just removed mine this summer under the hot sun. Came right off. The slight sticky residual was easily removed after that.

Yes, a hair dryer will work.

I own a vinyl sign company and this is how we do it: Use the hot or high setting. Place hair dryer about 2" - 3" from the surface and slowly go back and forth over small sections of the stripe (approximately 24") for about 5 seconds (the idea is to soften the adhesive and make the vinyl more pliable). Do not leave the heat in one spot for more than a few seconds or you risk melting the striping and possibly damaging the clear coat. Peel off the stripe and repeat the procedure for each 24" until all the striping is removed.

FYI, how difficult the striping is to remove depends on the type of vinyl and how long it has been on the vehicle. Sometimes it comes off real easy, with very little adhesive residue, and other times it breaks off in little pieces and leaves lots of adhesive. To remove the adhesive use a 100% cotton cloth and "Goo Gone" or "Goof Off", which are available wherever they're sold.

agree with above posts - how to remove pinstripe.
unless your pinstripe is painted on.

My pinstripe is painted on with the Lexus Logo painted into it (by Lexus)and either needs to be re-done on the LS430 or removed - Car needs full detailing as wife has been killing it with the Kids the last few years and my son colored with chalk on the side of the car so it needs to have all the surface scratches removed.

Car is black with tan interior- just not sure what to do with the pinstripe - I don't hate it but if the painted can be removed easy would rather go that route -

Any suggestions?

If your pinstripe has the Lexus logo then it is unlikely it is painted on. Countless thousands of Lexus vehicles had these standard Lexus logo vinyl pinstripes installed prior to sale. My pinstripes had the Lexus logo too and looked like they were painted on -- they were not.

Try one of the paint stripe removal techniques mentioned above. I used a hair dryer and car wax and had the paint stripes off both sides within an hour.
