Hi All, brand new owner
Hi everyone, I've justed picked up a CPO 2004 LS430 Ultra. I look forward to corresponding and input into this community.
Now, onto some questions for you all. With all the cars I own, there gotta be some mods done. I've read some review and comments on this board and everyone is doing a fantastic job on their cars. First item I want to change is the wheels. 19" to 20". Since I have the UL, do most owner of this model lower their cars? and can it be done with the air suspension?. I would love to be able to incorporate the factory high/normal switch to lower and raise the car. Possible? If not, how big of a wheel well gap would I be looking at?
Now the nav screen. I'll get the lockpick, and want to add video too. What resolution is the nav screen? 800x600 or ?? and which button would be used to select the video once the lockpick is installed? And location where best to install a DVD or input device. Anyone installed headrest monitors on their cars?
Sorry for the long rambling but I'm really exited to get this started. Thanks, Dave.

Hey, and welcome to Clublexus!
You have a very fine car, and im sure it will make a great trip out of any drive. The only problem is finding a car that you can actually replace it with when the time comes. I said the same thing about my previous '98 LS400, but im glad I foudn something.
Anyhow, you can either buy a controller for the Air suspension so you can control the height from the inside, or you can adjust the sensors at the wheels manually. THere was a recent thread about this if you check out the past two pages of threads.

Thanks for the heads up Grand LS. I've looked at the air suspension how to and that will be the way to go. Question though is that once I have it lowered to the setting that I want, will the car drop further when I have it on Sports mode when driving on the freeway? My thought would be if I want the smoother ride, I would set it to high, for a lowered look, set it to normal.
Welcome to the club Airtime.
I also have a 2004 UL. It sounds like you already had a mod done since the OEM wheels were 17". There has been several post about doing a mod to the UL air suspension and from what I remember most were not pleased with the ride. I'd like to lower my LS but if it means getting a bad ride then that would just go against why I bought an LS in the first place.
I have monitors in the backs of both front headrest. The DVD player is mounted in the front glove box. The system utilizes wireless headsets.

Hey Speed, have not purchased wheels yet. Thinking if I can go with 19" but higher sidewalls to give a more cushioned ride, it may work? For your headrest monitors, did you use stock headrest and cut into them or replace with Vizualogic's replacement headrest?.
Purchased my 2004 LS UL in 2005 and the mods were already done. The headrest appear to be be the originals though. We don't get much use out of them though since it's just my wife and I. Occasionally, on trips, I'll have her drive and I'll watch a movie. Pretty nice accept it's kind of hard keeping one eye on the monitor and the other on the road to 'monitor' her driving.
I thought of going to a larger wheel since the 17" feel to small for that car but it came with the optional chrome wheels--so....
One of the other items already on the car is a Beltronics RX75 Plus radar detector with Laser blocker. Super nice since it's pretty much concealed from view. The 1/2" wide by 4" long control head is mounted between the drivers seat and the middle console so it's pretty much hidden from view. Unfortunately more States have made it illegal to use the laser blocker since it was first installed.
