Drove a UL 2001
If my GS400 sells, I'll be in the market for a UL car. I drove a 01 UL with 123k miles from a local dealer. My first time in a UL car. Everything seemed to be in working order. It felt slower than my GS but not by much and I expected that. I don't know if it was just me or if this car had more wind noise than my GS? I also noticed that the rear seats only had a heat funtion and not a cool? When did they add vanity mirrors for the rear passengers? This particular car had something wrong with the cruise, I couldn't set it as it would tell me something is wrong (forgot the language it used on the dash).
Well I wasn't interested in buying it but if I get into the market for it if my GS sells I wanted to get my self familarized with one. Found the car to be different than my GS but the updates/upgrades are well received. I'm excited to get one!
Hope my GS sells!

The cruise control on the UL is laser guided. If the car was dirty, it may have been dirt obstructing the laser setup (that camera looking hole in the front bumper of the UL's).
Laser Cruise also will not work when it is raining and your wipers are on. You'll get an error message/alert too.
You'll like the LS430 Ultra. I moved up from a 1998 GS400 myself and have similar power, more room, and more bells/whistles. The only negative... you'll quickly grow grey hair (as this car is a favorite among the 55+ population). I'm 34 and get alot of crap from my friends about my ride being an "old mans" car. They don't give me crap when they're ridding in the back with the massaging seat and window shades though
