XM or Sirius
Disclaimer: I've had both services and both are incredible.
However, Sirius has a little less than 1/2 of XM's total song access catalog based on their annual SEC filings. That results in hearing the same song more often on their network, which some people actually prefer (you hear the hits more frequently). Others like variety a bit more and are interested in hearing things they've never listened to before from their favorite bands. To put it simply, Sirius tends to be a little more Top 40, XM tends to have more depth.
Aside from the talkers and sports coverage on each network, one of which might sway you to either service over the other (Howard Stern and the NFL on Sirius, Oprah and Baseball on XM, etc), when it came down to the music I preferred XM and cancelled Sirius. If you're a trance/techno/club music fan though, Sirius' channels are superior, fyi. Otherwise I preferred XM across the board.
Either is a winner.

Would love to know more about this little piece of data.
I'll try to find you a link, basically it's a part of their RIAA agreements, in which they pay the music industry annually to license the immense song lists that both offer. They disclose both the cost itself and the total song count of both services as a part of their financial disclosure obligations to shareholders.
As I recall it was something like 60,000 total songs for XM, 25,000 total for Sirius, but don't take my word on it.

Excellent info, thanks. I was not aware of that. I will find out why this is.
Though I pull for both satellite providers, my allegiance lies with Sirius. I don't see this as a good thing for them.
Thanks.
Jerry
